Another year, another incredible EmacsConf! This December, 200ok and Ardeo were once again proud to host the Swiss satellite venue for EmacsConf 2024 in Lucerne. As steadfast advocates of Free Software, we at 200ok consider it both a privilege and responsibility to provide a space where the Emacs community can gather, share knowledge, and strengthen the bonds that make our ecosystem thrive.

The beautiful facilities at Ardeo's Coworking Hub proved once again to be the perfect setting for our gathering. With their thoughtfully designed spaces and welcoming atmosphere, Ardeo has become more than just a venue – they're true partners in fostering the Free Software community in Switzerland.

This year's talks showcased the continuing vitality and innovation within the Emacs ecosystem. A particular highlight was Ihor Radchenko's (yantar92) presentation on the future of Org mode. As the new maintainer, his comprehensive roadmap and thoughtful approach to evolving this essential tool left us excited about what's to come. We strongly encourage all Org mode users to watch his talk at https://emacsconf.org/2024/talks/org-update/ – it's a masterclass in maintaining and growing critical Free Software infrastructure.

All talks from EmacsConf 2024 are now available online at https://emacsconf.org/2024/talks/, complete with captions. Whether you missed a session or want to revisit the insights shared, we encourage you to explore this valuable resource.

Let's take a visual journey through our wonderful weekend:

The main room during one of our general track sessions, where ideas and knowledge flowed freely.

Our dedicated hacking space in action, where theory turned into practice and collaboration flourished.

Our gracious hosts at Ardeo ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the event.

A special moment during the Org mode maintenance discussion, highlighting the bright future ahead.

Keeping our participants energized with delicious refreshments throughout the sessions.

Lunchtime conversations proved just as valuable as the formal sessions, fostering community bonds over excellent food.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication of countless individuals. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the EmacsConf organizers, the brilliant speakers who shared their knowledge, our engaged participants both local and remote, and everyone who contributed to making this event special. You all embody the spirit of Free Software – collaborative, innovative, and community-driven.

As we look to the future, we're more convinced than ever that Emacs and Free Software are not just tools, but catalysts for positive change in the software world. The energy, creativity, and collaborative spirit witnessed during EmacsConf 2024 remind us why we're passionate about this community and its mission.

Here's to many more years of Emacs innovation, Free Software advocacy, and community!
